I rarely find a photo that has as much impact on me emotionally as "Daddy's Little Girl" has had on me. It's hard to even know where to begin describing my thoughts on this work.
What really speaks volumes to me is the doll itself. What does this little doll represent to this man? Is she the daughter he can never have? Or a daughter he lost? Regardless of the interpretation, this father's painful expression and his almost feeble hold on the little doll tells a sad, heart-wrenching story.
The composition of this shot, as well as the lighting, helps to bring out the emotional aspect of the subject manner. In addition, the subject manner itself is very creative (which is why it stood out to me in the first place). I am not a professional photographer, so if there are any issues with the technique, I am not aware of it. Over-all, you've done a fantastic job with this work. I look forward to seeing more thought provoking, story-telling work from you!
